PT KONTAK PERKASA FUTURES - ORIGINAL STORY, 8/16/18: The good folks behind the long-running Roadburn festival have released exciting news regarding its 2019 edition, set for April 11-14th. Today's announcement includes an updated lineup featuring Vile Creature, Midnight and stoner-doom stalwarts Sleep — the last of whom will performing two full-album sets, one focused on 1992 classic Holy Mountain, and the other on their latest LP, this year's The Sciences — as well as the news that At the Gates singer Tomas Lindberg will serve as curator of the event.

PT KONTAK PERKASA FUTURES - Lindberg will follow in the footsteps of 2016's acting curator John Baizley (Baroness) and 2017's Jacob Bannon (Converge). Roadburn has long celebrated music and visual art as deeply entwined pursuits, and while Baizley and Bannon are both accomplished when it comes to visual art, Lindberg has his own bona fides in that realm, notably as the designer of the Darkthrone logo. He's also no stranger to the Roadburn stage, having performed there with Disfear in 2016 and made a cameo with Converge this year, covering Entombed's "Wolverine Blues" with them. His curated event, dubbed The Burning Darkness, will take place on various stages April 12th and 13th.

"Roadburn for me has always been about eclecticism, and underground music of all styles that desperately demand your attention," Lindberg commmented. "Walter and I have already started talking about possibilities, and I am super excited about the direction of these talks. See you there!"

The festival will also feature Have a Nice Life, who will perform two sets, including Deathconsciousness in full for the album's 10th anniversary, and Croatia's Seven That Spells return after a decade-long hiatus from the festival, in which time they've created "The Death and Resurrection of Krautrock" trilogy, surely to feature prominently in their Friday set. Canadian newcomers Vile Creature's Roadburn debut is sure to please fans of the sludgy, politically charged doom. Other acts announced include French punks Birds in Row, Dutch rockers Gore, and Louise Lemón with her unique brand of "death gospel."
